Fertility Rate Hits Record Low In England & Wales
Statistics spanning back to before the Second World War received a new record low in 2020. In England and Wales the female fertility rate fell to 1.58. That’s 0.5 less than the previous low of 2001 and 1.5 less than the wartime fall to 1.73 in 1941. The latest live birth figures also represent the fifth consecutive year of decreases. Since 1973, the fertility rate in England and Wales has been below ‘replacement level’. Women would need to have, on average, 2.08 children to ensure long-term replacement of the population.

But when I asked a pharmacist to fill some very common prescriptions, he told me the store had run out. “Try the Target up the road,” he suggested. Target’s pharmacy had the meds, but its front area was alarmingly barren, like the canned-food section of a grocery store one hour before a hurricane makes landfall. This is the economy now. One-hour errands are now multi-hour odysseys. Next-day deliveries are becoming day-after-next deliveries. That car part you need? It’ll take an extra week, sorry. The book you were looking for? Come back in November. The baby crib you bought? Make it December. Eyeing a new home-improvement job that requires several construction workers? Haha, pray for 2022. The U.S. economy isn’t yet experiencing a downturn akin to the 1970s period of stagflation. This is something different, and quite strange. Americans are settling into a new phase of the pandemic economy, in which GDP is growing but we’re also suffering from a dearth of a shocking array of things—test kits, car parts, semiconductors, ships, shipping containers, workers. This is the Everything Shortage. The Everything Shortage is not the result of one big bottleneck in, say, Vietnamese factories or the American trucking industry. We are running low on supplies of all kinds due to a veritable hydra of bottlenecks.

I believe worse tsunami will come, making these instructions obsolete. Your best way to survive a tsunami is to not live or work near coastal states.

Between April and September, a research station sitting on a high plateau in Antarctica registered an average temperature of minus 78 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s the coldest average temperature recorded since record keeping began in 1957. The previous record for the coldest winter was minus 77 Fahrenheit in 1976. Thanks to the frigid temperatures, sea ice levels around Antarctica were at their fifth highest extent on record in August. Russia Launches Hypersonic Cruise Missile From A Nuclear Submarine In Historic First
In what appears to be a world-first, Russia on Monday successfully launched a hypersonic cruise missile from a submarine. Putin has called these hypersonic missiles “invincible” as they are believed so fast as to be nearly impossible to shoot down. Putin has also touted that Russia’s hypersonic arsenal is capable of evading the US mainland’s network of defensive missiles. In July of this year the Russian Navy had first successfully fired the missile from a warship in the White Sea. Russian officials have described the Zircon missile as capable of traveling upwards of Mach 9, or about 6,900 mph and a distance of 621 miles.

Record Producer Price Index Jump
The producer price index, which measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for their output, for final demand jumped 8.3% year over year in August, 2021. The reading was hotter than the 8.2% increase that analysts were expecting and above the 7.8% print recorded in July. The reading was the strongest since record keeping began in November 2010.
Dixie and Caldor Fires
2021 has shown no sign of backing down from the challenge to be the worst year for fires. No California fire in history had ever climbed the Sierra Nevada mountains and rolled down the eastern side toward Nevada. The Dixie fire accomplished that heretofore-unprecedented feat. A month or so later, the Caldor fire did the same thing, soon seriously threatening South Lake Tahoe for the first time in history.
Seattle Heat
Seattle experienced three successive days in the summer of 2021 with maximum temperatures of more than 100oF (June 26-28, 2021). In all of prior recorded history, Seattle had seen only three days above 100oF (July 16, 1941; July 20, 1994; and July 29, 2009).

Ida tied the record for gaining intensity when approaching landfall. The cause of that rapid intensification? Temperature of the Gulf of Mexico waters provided fuel to buttress the intensity. Those water temperatures across the Gulf ranged between 88oF and 90oF to a depth of 150 feet –never before in recorded history.
Warmest Year on Record
The year 2020 tied with 2016 for the warmest year on record since record–keeping began in 1880. Over just the past 20 years, the “This has been the hottest year ever” has been assigned to five of those years.
Acres Burned
During the 1990s, the average annual acreage burned by wildfires in the U.S. was 3.3 million acres. Since 2000, that annual average has more than doubled to 7 million acres. In 2020, wildfires burned some 10.1 million acres — the second-most acreage impacted in a year since record-keeping began in 1960.

Cyprus Has Hottest Month On Record
Meteorologists in Cyprus say August was the island’s hottest month since their recordkeeping began. August’s average high temperature 103.6 Fahrenheit. The previous August record of 103.5 F was set in July 2020. U.S. weather officials previously announced that July was the hottest month on Earth in 142 years of recordkeeping.

Record Port Delays at Los Angeles and Long Beach Ports
A record 47 container ships were at anchor or drifting off the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach on Sunday August 29th, a new all-time high. The earlier high of 40 at anchor was set on Feb 1 and matched several times last week. Before COVID, an average of 16 container ships were at berths or at anchor on any given day (with any ships at anchor being a rare occurrence). Also on Sunday, there were 76 box ships either at berths, at anchor, or drifting — almost 5 times the levels before COVID. Hope for any relief this year has vanished, and no return to normal until at least the first half of 2022.

When Ida made landfall, it was the 17th storm to hit the United States in the past two years, the sixth of 2021. Already this year, Claudette, Danny, Elsa, Fred, Henri, and Ida have hit the United States. Over the past 71 years, the United States averages only three landfalling storms a year. This year’s pace is only a tad behind last year’s record pace of 11 landfalls in the United States.

The amount of ice lost in a day is the same as the average ice lost in a normal week at the same time. Note that if all of Greenland’s ice melted, sea levels would reportedly rise about 20 feet. The coronavirus pandemic is a pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The pandemic brought the entire world to a relative standstill. All 50 USA states had national emergency declarations going on at the same time. It caused one of the biggest stock market crashes in history, and the USA unemployment insurance claims increased by the biggest amounts in history. Near-future unemployment rates of anywhere from 15-35% are predicted. The USA responded the the job losses by giving Americans stimulus money and pumping trillions into the economy, in what is shaping up to be the largest stimulus on record by far.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints responded by closing all temples, calling to their home countries most missionaries and closing sacrament meetings, and allowing at-home sacrament. The April General Conference was not done in front of an on-site audience but was streamed for people to watch from home.
U.S. retail sales—which account for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity—fell 8.7% in March, the largest decline since data began in 1992, according to the Commerce Department. Food and beverage sales jumped more than 25%, while nearly every other non-essential category showed large declines. Clothing and accessories sales fell more than 50%, with furniture/home furnishing and food services/drinking places sales each falling more than 25%. …Confidence among homebuilders also took a record hit. Homebuilder confidence for single-family homes fell 42 points to a reading of 30 from last month…the largest monthly decline since the index’s creation in 1985. …The International Energy Agency…predicts global oil demand will fall by a record 9.3 million barrels per day this year. “We may see it was the worst year in the history of global oil markets,” IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said. …gallons of gasoline purchased dropped 20% last month compared to the same period a year earlier. …manufacturing activity in the New York area dropped to -78.2 in April…the lowest reading ever. …Just 7% of respondents reported stronger conditions, while 85% reported conditions had weakened. With record drops over the last month in retail sales, homebuilder confidence, energy and manufacturing, it’s likely we’ll see more record economic readings in the months to come as the U.S. economy remains at a standstill.

2018 California Wildfire Season
The 2018 wildfire season was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire season in California history. It was also the largest on record. The most destructive wildfire in California’s history, the Thomas fire, happened in December, 2017. Less than one year later, the Mendocino Complex surpassed the Thomas fire as the largest fire in California’s history. The smoke from these fires and other fires burning in the west have made the air in Utah filthy. The mountains have become hard to see and the sun is darkened by the smoke. 2018 was California’s worst fire season in recorded history, measured by acres burned (record broken in 2020).

It tied for second place as the second-strongest Atlantic hurricane by wind speed, surpassed only by hurricane Allen in 1980. Irma sustained 185 mph winds for 37 hours, setting a record above Allen, which had sustained 180 mph winds for 18 hours. Hurricane Irma was a Category 5 hurricane for 3 days, which is the longest since we began tracking storms on satellite in 1966. Irma made landfall at Florida on September 9th and 10th, 2017, making 2017 the first year on record that two hurricanes at Category 4 or higher made US landfall the same year.
Hurricane Harvey Worst Rainfall Event in USA History
Some climatologists are saying that Hurricane Harvey was the worst rainfall event in the country’s history. 77 confirmed fatalities. Harvey became a Category 4 hurricane late on August 25, 2021. Hours later, it made landfall near Rockport, Texas, at peak intensity. Catastrophic inland flooding occurred in the Greater Houston area. Interesting note: Read JST Luke 21:25. It mentions signs in the sun as well as the sea, waves, and waters of the great deep (in addition to other signs). The eclipse and hurricane Harvey happened 4 days apart. The eclipse was on the 21st and Harvey was on the 25th. The chapter and verse you just read about signs in the sun and the sea, waves, and waters was 21:25. This verse is a prophecy about the generation when the times of the gentiles will be fulfilled near the time of Jesus Christ’s coming. The more I research this season, the more I feel a sense of awe. Harvey was the third 500-year-flood in Houston in 3 years.
